Natural Olive Oil Soap Base

If you have been searching for a natural, clear olive oil melt and pour (glycerine) soap base, then this product is for you. This is a skin-loving olive oil soap base.

Crafted in NZ, this soap base contains only natural ingredients. It contains excellent skin-loving qualities thanks to the high levels of fresh NZ olive oil. It provides a wonderful small-bubbled lather that becomes thick and luxurious very quickly. Perfect for older and sensitive skin types. It is also very clear and perfect for embedding.

To Melt: Chop into small 2cm cubes and melt in a Pyrex jug in the microwave on short 20-30 second bursts or on a double-boiler. Do not leave unattended (watch it carefully) as this base melts very quickly.

Colouring your soap base: This soap base is clear and colourants will be bright.

If you just want a pure and natural soap, just chop it off the block as you need it – no need to add anything else.

Colour: White with a tint of green thanks to the olive oil.

Odour: Mildly sweet.

Vegan Status: Vegan friendly.

Melting Point: 45-55 °C.

Product Consistency: Take care when un-moulding small or intricate soaps – we recommend freezing them for 30 minutes prior. This base sets up quickly and will form a skin if you don’t keep stirring. We recommend giving it a really good tap once in the mould, to ensure it has reached all edges of the mould. Remember, this is a natural base and does not contain artificial ingredients that make it easier to work with.

Decomposition Point: 150°C. Do not over-heat this base as it is a natural product made from oils and will begin to smoke if you heat it above this point.

pH: 7.8-8.5. This is quite low for soap and will not strip your skin like higher pH soaps.
